At Michael Grimm Services we’re committed to education and our community.

Our tree crew has participated in several large Arbor Day projects with other local tree care companies including projects at the Burnet Park Zoo, the James Pass Arboretum and Thornden Park.  Our company planted dozens of trees in celebration of Arbor Day over the years at the Grimshaw Elementary School and the High School in Lafayette.  We led a group of volunteers at a planting project a couple of years ago at the Wheeler Elementary School in South Onondaga.  We donated projects as a company at Sarah House in 2009, the Salvation Army in 2010 and at the Butterfly Garden of Hope for Bereaved in 2011.

Michael Grimm Services, Inc. has been awarded CNYBlooms Home & Garden Award for “Most Original” 2006 and winner 3 years in a row for “Best Small Garden” 2008, 2009, 2010!

I have represented both our company and the New York State Nursery & Landscape Association over a dozen times at official Arbor Day ceremonies at the governor’s mansion and elsewhere in Albany at tree planting ceremonies.  I rode in a 700 mile bicycle ride – the Tour de Trees – in 2001 from Minneapolis, MN to Milwaukee, WI to raise money for tree research and have participated for the last 3 years in an golfing event called the 100 Holes for Kids to help raise money for the McMahon/Ryan House.

I served for 10 years on the Executive Board of the CNYSNLA (Central New York State Nursery & Landscape Association) including 2 years as president I think in 2002 and 2003.  I served for 6 years on the Executive Board of the New York State Nursery & Landscape Association including 1 year as president in 2010.  I served for 12 years on the Executive Board of the New York State Arborists including 2 years as president in 2000 and 2001.  I was awarded the 2007 Distinguished Arborist Award by the NYSA in January of 2008.  I was awarded the CNLP of the Year Award in August of 2011 by the NYSNLA.
